Are you going to be in Orlando for the International
conference on January 11th & 12th 2002? Why don't you think about
driving across you beautiful country and make it a tax deductible vacation?
When DWG International announced that their
first conference was going to be in Las Vegas on September 21 & 22,
I talked to some of my local distributors here in Winnipeg and asked who
wanted to do a road trip to it. On Sunday September 16th at 12:00
noon, I left Winnipeg, Manitoba for Las Vegas Nevada with 2 of my 1st
level Directors. We anticipated a drive of approximately 3000 km or
1875 miles. That day we drove for about 10 hours crossing into the
Mountain Time Zone ending us up in Glendive, Montana.
On Monday morning we left Glendive in route
for somewhere in Utah. We drove for sometime sharing some ideas with
each other on how to grow our businesses
bigger. The next thing
we new we were in Livingston, Montana (the first port of entry into Yellowstone
National Park). We filled up with gas, had a bite to eat and continued
on. We drove for an hour and hit the park gate. In this business,
I've driven to a lot of different places but have never seen scenery like
I did on this drive. We drove through mountain peaks into valleys
observing some of the most majestic wildlife that I've ever seen.
We made a stop and got out of the van to take some pictures of a heard of
elk that were grazing by the road. We walked within 20 feet of them
without them getting stirred up and they just looked at us. We continued
our drive checking out the different sites, when we came across Old
Faithful. We waited for approximately 20 minutes before it erupted
into a glorious explosion of water where the wind caught it and made it
dance thru the air causing rainbows to appear everywhere. From there
we continued on through the park and on to Brigham City, Utah.
Tuesday morning we got up and continued on the road into
Las Vegas. We had a great time seeing some of the local sites and
some of the local entertainment.
On Friday
afternoon when the conference started with the release of the PB 10.
I had the opportunity to see the product before, but had never really tried
it until Thursday. That delivery system (which is totally goof proof)
will help us welcome new people into waterless technology. The speakers
on Friday shared a lot of great information and I learned some new things
that will help me grow my business. Friday evening at
the mixer everybody got to rub shoulders and interact with each
other and share ideas.
Saturday morning
the conference continued with more great information and a spectacular guest
speakers who all shared great insights into what we need to do. In
the afternoon there was a recognition segment like I've never seen before.
When the conference concluded we headed back on the road again heading home
and stayed in Utah.
Sunday morning
we got up at 6:30 a.m. and started on the road. We drove for about
16 hours with a lot of excitement being shared and a lot of silent contemplation
of where our businesses are going
to grow to. We finally stopped and laid our heads down in Glendive
at about 10:30 that night.
By 4:15 Monday
morning we were on the road again and traveled for another 10 hours until
we arrived in Winnipeg at
approximately 3:00 that afternoon.
We made it
home safe and we are all still talking to each other.
Looking forward to seeing you at the next DWG international conference
in Orland on the 11th & 12th of January.
